Pneumatically powered (compressed air) , air pallets are typically a perfect selection for indoor locations like factories & warehouses. Similar to their aluminium platform transporter counterparts, they are also relatively low profile and have a height of around 2 inches with deflated air bearings. Air pallets are made available with either A-type or B-type air bearings, based on the intended use, kind of flooring, and sort of load they would be moving or transporting. A-type air bearings are the traditional standard fit, and when they’re energised, they move the load away from the floor surface “just enough” to float the load which can then be moved off to its intended spot. This sort of set up requires the load to be placed upon the air pallet. Once air pallets set up includes B-type air bearings, the attributes of air pallets alter slightly. B-type air bearings have a lift height which makes them lift a load or pallet away from its base before moving it laterally to its location. This sort of lift is available for various circumstances when loads are not able to be placed on the air pallet by other methods. Aside from the higher lift of the B-type air bearings, they also are a little more powerful and could usually work on flooring surfaces which seem rougher than the standard smooth concrete type of flooring. But, they do utilize about the twice the amount of compressed air as the A-type air bearings do. But, in particular situations the B-type are definitely required for the job and are well worth the extra compressed air that is used.
